Photo of the day: dozens of freshly dug graves in Irpin as evidence of Russian atrocities
The New York Times published a horrible photo of freshly dug graves in Irpin, Kyiv region. It became an illustration of the scale of Russia’s atrocities against Ukrainians. As of April 15, 2022, bodies of 900 have been found in Kyiv region. The total death toll caused by Russian invasion isn’t known yet.
71% of buildings in Irpin have been destroyed. Mayor of the town Oleksandr Markushyn said more than 1,000 buildings in the city sustained damage, of which 115 were totally destroyed by Russian shelling. The majority of the buildings were residential or civilian.
