Popular pro-Russian blogger, politician Anatolii Sharii detained in Spain

The pro-Russian Ukrainian blogger was detained in Spain on May 4, 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine announced. Ukrainian authorities suspect Sharii of high treason, saying he had been spreading disinformation to harm Ukraine’s national security and was paid for it by Russia.

“There is reason to believe that Anatolii Sharii acted at the order of foreign structures. The evidence of the investigation was confirmed by several expert studies which established that there were facts of his subversive activities against Ukraine in interviews and speeches of Anatolii Sharii,” the Security Service of Ukraine stated.
