President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam visits Borodianka in Kyiv region
On Feb. 4, 2023, Deputy Speaker of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, Olena Kondratiuk, and President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam, paid a visit to Borodianka. — Ukrinform reports.
“Today marks my second meeting with the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. We had previously met in Brussels. I’d like to thank you on behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament and the entire Ukrainian people for your visit. It is extremely important for us,” Kondratiuk addressed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly president.
Kondratiuk and Garriaud-Maylam got acquainted in Borodianka with the consequences of the Russian occupation of this town. In particular, they inspected the destruction of high-rise buildings, the damaged monument to Taras Shevchenko, with a toy and a bouquet near it, and the graffiti of the British street artist Banksy on the wall of one of the premises of the damaged kindergarten “Pinocchio.”
