Grand Princess Olga (920-969) seized authority in Kyivan Rus after the death of her husband, Prince Ihor, because her son Sviatoslav, who later became famous for his boldness and ideas of honor, was still too young at the time. After regaining the throne, Princess Olga worked tirelessly to bring culture and wealth to her country. She made life easier for the people, centralized power in Kyiv, and reformed the taxation system. The initial state borders of Kyivan Rus were established under the reign of Olga.
