Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine considers Russian strikes on energy facilities as genocide

Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure are considered genocide by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. In an interview with Lb.ua, Yuriy Belousov, the head of the Department for Combating Crimes in Conditions of Armed Conflict, underscored this. He added that the number of adversary attacks on vital infrastructure assets has grown since October last year.
“When compared to last year, 70% of strikes occurred on the power system from October to December 2022. This demonstrates that the aggressor struck and committed these acts on purpose. Furthermore, they expanded not only the number of attacks but also the size of areas attacked,” Belousov explained.
