Rosatom trying to take full control of Zaporizhzhia NPP — IAEA
Representatives of Russia’s Rosatom are demanding daily reports from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant management on “confidential issues” regarding the operation of the nuclear power plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported.
“Rosenergoatom — a unit of Russian state nuclear company Rosatom — had sent a group of nuclear specialists to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, naming eight. It said they demanded daily reports from plant management about ‘confidential issues’ on the functioning of the NPP,” the report says.
The IAEA stressed that the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP “continues to be challenging and requires continued attention owing to the presence of Russian forces and Rosatom personnel at the site while operational management remains with Ukrainian plant operators.”
