Royal Navy patrol vessel, HMS Mersey, lit up in blue in yellow in support of Ukraine

Royal Navy patrol vessel, HMS Mersey, lit up in the colors of the Ukrainian flag whilst docked alongside in Liverpool, the city which hosted this year’s Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine.

As the British Ministry of Defense reports, the ship docked on the river that bears its name and was bathed in Ukrainian national colors – yellow and blue – each evening it is alongside, as a nod to last year’s winners, Kalush Orchestra, from Ukraine. On the eve of Eurovision the ship hosted a networking event called ‘Power Up’ which seeks to support Ukrainian families with employment in Liverpool, having been living in or evacuated to the city due to the ongoing illegal Russian invasion.
