Russia attacked Ukraine on January 7, despite promised ‘Christmas ceasefire’

Russian invaders shelled at least seven regions in Ukraine’s east and south on Jan. 7, 2023, when many Ukrainians were celebrating Christmas. Despite Putin’s promises on ‘Christmas ceasefire.’

Russians attacked frontline localities in Donetsk region, as well as in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions. Due to the attack in Kharkiv region, one person was killed. In Zaporizhzhia region, Russians shelled the UN mission delivering humanitarian aid.

“The world was once again able to see today how false any words of any level that sound from Moscow are. They said something there about an alleged ceasefire… But the reality is that Russian rounds hit Bakhmut and other Ukrainian positions again,” said the President of Ukraine in his latest address to the nation.
