“Russia crossed a line it should not”
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto told Il Messaggero newspaper that his country would consider providing Kyiv with air defense systems if it would be possible.
“Ukraine has certainly been asking for support against air attacks on civilian targets for months: hospitals, schools, power plants. If it is possible, we will certainly help them to defend themselves: Russia has crossed a line it should not have crossed,” Crosetto said.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed her government’s “full support” for Ukraine in a call with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In his tweet, Zelenskyy thanked Meloni for her “solidarity and comprehensive support” and said Italy was considering providing Kyiv with air defense systems.
