Russia has committed 148 crimes against journalists and media during the month of full-scale war in Ukraine

As of March 24, 2022, five journalists were killed in the line of duty, seven injured, and one had gone missing.
Institute of Mass Information is aware of at least six cases of Russian journalists being taken hostage and ill-treated. The occupiers fired on 10 TV towers, which are civilian targets, causing the complete or temporary disappearance of television and radio broadcasting in eight regions of Ukraine.
In addition, at least 70 regional media outlets were forced to shut down due to threats from the Russian occupiers, seizure of newsrooms, inability to work under temporary occupation, lack of opportunities for printing and distribution, etc.
