Russia is using sexual violence as a weapon in its war against Ukraine

The Russians are actively attempting to discourage Ukrainians’ desire to resist, destroying hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure and using sexual abuse against civilians as a tool of aggression, but each aggressor must recognize the certainty of justice for their crimes.
Andra Levite, Latvia’s First Lady, said this on Saturday in Lviv at the United for Justice international conference, as Ukrinform reports. “A spade must be called a spade. What is going on in Ukraine is not a ‘special operation,’ but war, in which sexual crimes and rapes are being committed. Individuals should not be ashamed of their experiences. Those who commit such crimes, on the other hand, should truly fear justice and the penalty they deserve,” Levite stated.
