Russia must pay for the restoration of Ukraine

The reconstruction of Ukraine will be the next huge task, stated EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell during a press conference in Sweden.

“It is also clear that Russia must compensate for the enormous losses and damage caused to Ukraine and its people. It has to pay for the costs for rebuilding Ukraine,” he added. Borrell noted that the EU is stepping up work on how to use the frozen and immobilised Russian assets, in accordance with international law.
