Russia needs to know that we are steadfast in our resolve to support Ukraine, not just in the here and now, but for the long term as well

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak gave a straightforward message to Russian President Putin at the G7 summit.

“Russia needs to know that we and other countries are steadfast in our resolve to support Ukraine, not just in the here and now with the resources it needs to protect itself, but for the long term as well,” the prime minister told Sky News.

Being in Hiroshima for the G7 summit, Sunak has announced that Britain will ban imports of Russian diamonds in a new wave of sanctions. Also, new measures include a ban on imports of Russian-origin copper, aluminum and nickel.
