Russia strikes Kyiv and multiple Ukrainian cities: damaged energy infrastructure

Russian troops launched a new attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. On October 18, 2022, Russia struck multiple Ukrainian cities. The relevant services are working at the site of all hits.

  • In Kyiv, three explosions rocked one of the energy supply facilities. Power went out in one of the city districts. According to Kyiv’s City Prosecutor’s Office, 2 people have been killed following missile strikes.
  • In Zhytomyr, the enemy forces attacked an energy supply facility. There is no electricity or water supply in the city. According to Zhytomyr Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn, two people got injured.
  • The Russians hit an energy infrastructure facility in Dnipro with two missiles. There is a fire raging and severe destruction.
  • Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia with kamikaze drones. Head of the Zaporizhzhia Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, reported that the attack caused a fire at the infrastructure facility.
