Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy system will also affect the energy systems of neighboring countries

The massive Russian shelling of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, may have an impact on the energy systems of some neighboring countries.

“This attack may have an impact not only on the energy system of Ukraine but also on the energy systems of some of our neighbors,” Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said.

He noted that this shelling of the energy system was the most massive since the beginning of the war. The enemy is hitting the entire Ukrainian energy system — both generation facilities and the electricity transmission system. Emergency power outages were applied in all regions.
