Russian invaders destroyed unique statues of Polovtsian Stone Women in Kharkiv region

The Russian troops destroyed a famous landmark in Kharkiv region — Polovtsian Stone Women — reports Ukrainian art historian Oksana Semenik.

The stone statues belong to the 9th–13thcenturies and are located on mount Kremenets near the liberated Izium.

Polovtsians (Cumans) are nomadic tribes, who created most of these statues, and used them as idols to worship their ancestors.
