Russian invaders fired on the water supply system in Popasna: 1 million people without water

On May 8, 2022, the Russian invaders fired on the Popasna Vodokanal (public corporation responsible for water supply) in Luhansk region. As a result, about 1 million people were left without a centralized water supply.

“They hit the substation building and the outlets with transformers at one of the filtration stations. Probably, the substation equipment was also damaged. The occupants targeted the facilities of the Popasna Vodokanal. One million people without water, including the occupied territories,” said the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai.
