Russian troops attack Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions on October 17, 2022

On the night and morning of October 17, 2022, Russian troops attacked the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions with drones and missiles.

Dnipropetrovsk region. According to Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, Russians attacked the region all night long with missiles, Grads, and heavy artillery. Three missiles were shot down by air defense forces. One missile hit an energy infrastructure facility.

Sumy region. Russian forces launched a missile attack on the critical infrastructure facilities of Romny district in Sumy region. Casualties reported.

Odesa region. Russian forces launched a missile strike from the sea, an infrastructure object was damaged.

Mykolaiv region. At night, Russians attacked the region with kamikaze drones. Nine of them were shot down by air defense forces. In the city of Mykolaiv, three drones hit an object of industrial infrastructure, where tanks with sunflower oil were ignited. A fire also broke out in a pharmaceutical warehouse.

Zaporizhzhia region. According to Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhzhia Region Military Administration, at night, Russian invaders launched a rocket attack on the regional center but did not achieve the goal: no damage or casualties were reported.
