Russian warships hide behind civilian vessels in the Black Sea

“The leadership of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation began to use the insidious Russian ‘tactics’ known since 2014, but now at sea,” as stated in the report of the Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the report, Russians brought ships of the merchant fleet to the roadstead of Sevastopol with the AIS identification systems turned off so that they could not be recognized as civilian ships.

“Hiding their warships behind them, the invaders continue to destroy peaceful Ukrainian cities and kill our citizens with Kalibr cruise missiles. All this shows once again the true face of the Russian Federation,” the report reads.
