Russians holding 474 residents of the Kherson region in captivity
As of Jan. 2, 2022б 474 people who were abducted by the Russian military in the Kherson region remain in captivity, the press secretary of the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office Anastasia Vesilovska told Suspilne.
According to Vesilovska, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian invaders have kidnapped 1,100 people in the Kherson region. Among the abducted and missing residents of the region were mayors, village heads, heads of village councils, their deputies and others.
The prosecutor’s office reports that 638 citizens were released while 474 people still remain in captivity.
