Russia’s threat of using nuclear weapons is unacceptable

Foreign ministers of the Quad group — the US, Japan, Australia and India — denounced Russia’s nuclear threats in a joint statement during the G20 meeting of ministers in India.

“We continued to discuss our responses to the conflict in Ukraine and the immense human suffering it is causing, and concurred that the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible,” the statement reads.

The parties also underscored the need for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine in accordance with international law.
