Russia’s war in Ukraine could cause “hurricane” of world hunger — UN

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that the Russian-Ukrainian war could lead to global famine and the collapse of the global food system. “The war in Ukraine is already disrupting supply chains and causing the prices of fuel, food, and transport to skyrocket,” Guterres tweeted. According to the UN Secretary-General, the world must do everything possible “to avert a hurricane of hunger and a meltdown of the global food system.”
