Seimas of Lithuania adopted a Resolution on the ban on performances by Russians and Belarusians at the Olympic Games

The Seimas of Lithuania unanimously adopted the Resolution on the ban on performances by Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions, including the Olympic Games. Seimeas of Lithuania officially stated this on Twitter.

Speaker of the Seimas Victoria Chmilite-Nilsen emphasized that “there cannot be a neutral flag for the representatives of the aggressor countries while Russia’s brutal war in Ukraine continues.” The 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to Aug. 11. Ukrainians, world leaders and countries started an active campaign to ban Russia and Belarus from the 2024 Olympics.
