Shakhtar held a charity match against Fenerbahce in Istanbul as part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace. The footballers appeared for the match in the shirts bearing a photo of the 4-year-old Ukrainian girl Alisa who has been hiding in a bomb shelter in Mariupol since the first day of the war.

By this act, Shakhtar wanted to remind the world community that more than 200 Ukrainian children have been killed due to Russia’s military aggression; and the match is an opportunity to show the horror of this war through Alisa’s story. The game began with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the war. Fenerbahce defeated Shakhtar 1:0.

All proceeds from the sale of tickets and advertising will be transferred to volunteer organizations, and doctors, and also allocated to help the Ukrainian children affected by the war.
