Soviet-era sculpture in honor of “the reunification of Ukraine and Russia” dismantled in Kyiv

A sculpture “Ukraine and Russia Reunification,” erected in 1982 near the Arch of Peoples’ Friendship, was dismantled in Kyiv on April 26, 2022, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko informed.
“Russia ‘marked’ its attitude to Ukraine with the brutal murders of peaceful Ukrainians, the destruction of our cities and towns, the desire to destroy our statehood. Eight meters of metal of the so-called ‘friendship of two peoples’ are removed from the center of Kyiv,” the Kyiv Mayor said.
