Spanish town was renamed to Ukraine for a week to express solidarity with the war-torn country

The Spanish town of Fuentes de Andalucía in the province of Seville has been renamed to Ukraine at the request of local authorities for the duration of Holy Week to express solidarity with Ukraine amid the Russian armed aggression.

“The current initiative has been implemented at the request of local residents, who decided to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people amid the Russian armed aggression this way,” Embassy of Ukraine in Spain stated.

Some streets in Fuentes de Andalucía will also bear the names of Ukrainian cities during Holy Week, namely Kyiv, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kherson and Odesa.
