“Stop Russia’s attempts to use food as a weapon”

Ukraine is deeply concerned about the destructive actions of Russia, which resulted in the delay of the work of the Black Sea grain corridor, obstructing the Black Sea Grain Initiative in general, shipping in the Black Sea and free access of food to world markets, according to a joint statement from Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

For several months in a row, Russian representatives have been systematically delaying the inspection of vessels heading through the Bosporus Strait from/to Ukrainian ports.

Ukraine appealed to the UN and Turkey to press Russia to stop hindering Ukrainian grain shipments under the Black Sea grain deal. “We call to stop Russia’s attempts to use food as a weapon and to unblock commercial navigation to the Ukrainian Black Sea ports,” the statement reads.
