Sweden makes aid to Ukraine a priority of its EU leadership

Comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression, as well as political, economic, and humanitarian help, will remain among the Swedish EU Presidency’s priorities for the next six months.
Today, in Strasbourg, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson delivered a speech presenting the priorities of the rotating Swedish presidency in the EU.
“In short, our chief priorities are to make Europe greener, safer, and freer. We have a lot to do together in the coming six months. Times are though difficult. The war is raging in Europe, the war that has led to countless casualties, both soldiers and civilians, and brutal atrocities. But also to an energy crisis and economic downturn… Our obvious starting point, everybody’s first priority is and has to be Ukraine. Nothing is as important,” stated the Swedish prime minister.
