Taras Shevchenko Monument in Prague is coated with sandbags in solidarity with Ukraine

A monument to Taras Shevchenko in Prague was covered with sandbags to support Ukraine and its culture. The monument was protected in the same way as cultural monuments in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and other cities from Russian shelling.

Thus, the artists wanted to draw attention to the problem of the Ukrainian cultural heritage destruction by the Russian army, according to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic. Czech cultural figures have also announced a fundraiser to protect Ukrainian art.
