“The advance of Ukrainian troops along the Bakhmut direction – that is the first successful offensive operation in the city’s defense.”

Commander of Ukrainian Ground Forces Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi has stated Ukraine’s offensive operation in the Bakhmut defence shows Ukrainian forces are capable of moving forward and countering Russian troops there.

“The last few days have shown that we can move forward and destroy the enemy even in such extremely difficult conditions… The operation to defend Bakhmut continues,” he told Ukraine’s Media Military Center. The Commander of Ukrainian Ground Forces noted that the advance of Ukrainian troops along the Bakhmut direction is the first successful offensive operation in the city’s defence.
