The current labor market crisis in Ukraine is the worst in 10 years — research

In April 2022, the number of job vacancies in Ukraine decreased by 19 times compared to the last year, according to the job search website grc.ua.

The current labor market crisis is the worst in the country in 10 years. It can be vividly seen, especially in Kyiv. There are 30 times fewer job offers than a year ago in the Ukrainian capital. Since the beginning of the war, Kyiv’s share of overall country’s vacancies has been decreasing and now stands at only 37%, though the city remains the leader in the number of job openings.

If earlier the capital was the most desirable place to look for a well-payed job, now Kyiv does not offer the highest salaries anymore. Instead, it’s Lviv in the west of Ukraine, where salaries are higher now.
