The end of the war cannot simply be associated with freezing the conflict. Russia must stop the war and withdraw its troops.

Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz believes that Russian aggression against Ukraine cannot end with freezing the conflict; instead, Russia should withdraw all its troops.

“If many are now making proposals on how peace and security can be ensured and how it is possible to get out of this war, then it is also important that it is understood that this cannot simply be associated with a freezing of the conflict and that Russia can simply keep all of its military conquests, but that one result must always be that Russia withdraws troops,” Scholz said.

He stressed that Russia must stop the war and that G7 countries will support Ukraine as long as necessary.
