The first written mention of the word “Ukraine” came from XII century with the Chronicle of Kyiv
In 1187, the name “Ukraine” was first recorded in the Kyiv Chronicle, and soon, this name would be fixed everywhere. Kyiv — is the capital of Ukraine and was Europe’s largest city in the 11th century.
