The IMF approved $1.4 billion of additional financing in support of Ukraine to help it cope with the shock of the war

The IMF Executive Board decided to provide Ukraine with additional financing of $1.4 billion (about SDR 1 billion) under the emergency assistance program Rapid Financing Instrument. This is the maximum amount Ukraine can obtain under the program which corresponds to 50% of Ukraine’s quota as the IMF member country. RFI is provided to Ukraine with no conditions as the IMF has changed the focus of discussions with the Ukrainian authorities from “reforms” to “crisis management”.
