The negotiations should not become a “ratification” of Russia’s seizure of Ukrainian territories

In an interview with the Funke media group and the French newspaper Ouest-France, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that a just and sustainable peace would not be achieved if the truce “essentially ratifies Russia’s occupation of some territory in Ukraine.” He claimed that under such circumstances, Russia would have the chance to rearrange its forces, take a break, and launch another strike later on.
