The only maritime painting museum in Ukraine was evacuated from Mykolaiv region

The only maritime painting museum in Ukraine had its artifacts removed from Ochakov. The Mykolaiv Development Agency informed the Ukrinform correspondent of this.

“The inhabitants of Mykolaiv assisted in removing the exhibits from the Ochakiv Museum of Marine Art. The museum’s collection, which consists of works by Tatiana Yablonska, Ivan Aivazovskyi, and Rufim Sudkovskyi, is currently held in a secure location,” the message reads.

It should be emphasized that the museum is a distant department of the Vasyl Vereshchagin Regional Art Museum. The saved collection embraces marine paintings and images from the 19th and 20th centuries. The collection is based on artworks by famous Ukrainian marine artists of the 19th century, which are the heritage of national and world culture.
