“The overwhelming take for me was the incredible resilience and the courage of the Ukrainian people” American actor Liev Schreiber about his trip to Ukraine

American actor Liev Schreiber, known for his roles in X-Men and Scream, told MSNBC about his volunteer trip to Ukraine. Schreiber spent a week on the Ukrainian-Polish border helping chefs cook for refugees, and then he arrived in the city of Lviv in the west of Ukraine western.

“Before I went to Ukraine, I spent a week working with Jose Andreas’ extraordinary organization the World Central Kitchen, and I cooked with them for a week and sort of saw the need and how it was changing and involving. But once I went inside Ukraine I think the overwhelming take for me was the incredible resilience and the courage of the Ukrainian people,” said Schreiber.

Liev Schreiber is a cofounder of BlueCheck Ukraine, which is vetting and channeling donations to organizations operating in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
