The production of Kosiv painted ceramics included in the UNESCO list to be resumed in Ukraine

The production of unique Kosiv ceramics, which is included in the UNESCO list and is part of the intangible heritage of the Hutsul region, is to be resumed in Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reports.

The Ministry explained that due to the lack of possibility to process local raw materials, artisans could not make individual products.

However, on June 30, 2022, the long-awaited equipment for the ceramics workshop was delivered to the Kosiv regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. It will enable to restore full-fledged technological production process of the local ceramics’ — a tradition recognized at the UNESCO level.
