The Rescuer’s Day is celebrated in Ukraine
Every year on September 17, the Day of the Rescuer of Ukraine is celebrated. It is a professional holiday for workers of the emergency services, including firefighters, rescue and search specialists, medics, accident liquidators, sappers, and others.
Rescuers are Ukraine’s heroes today. Despite Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and constant shelling of cities by the Russian forces — rescue workers every day risk their lives to fulfill their mission — save people.
“I want to congratulate everyone who performs this noble work, who saves people. I want to thank you for the thousands of saved lives, and for the security that you are returning to us, all Ukrainians. Eternal glory to all who care about people!” said the President of Ukraine in his address.
