“The spirit. It feels as if the city itself is preparing to defend itself.”
On March 23, 2022, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas visited Kyiv, where he met with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksiy Reznikov and handed over military aid.
“We have just delivered aid to Ukraine. We handed it over directly to Ukraine’s Defence Minister Reznikov in Kyiv. Everything you need for 21st-century warfare,” Anusauskas said.
Arvydas Anušauskas is the first Defense Minister who visited Ukraine since the full-scale war started. “I could write a lot about Ukrainian soldiers’ determination to defend their country, their freedom, and their independence, but there is something intangible beyond the pretty words. The spirit. It feels as if the city itself is preparing to defend itself,” the minister said.
