“The United States will never, never, never recognize Russia’s claims on Ukraine sovereign territory”
President of the United States Joe Biden pledged that his country would never recognize Russia’s claims on Ukraine’s sovereign territory as the United States prepared new sanctions to impose once Moscow annexes new areas of Ukraine.
Speaking to Pacific island leaders, Biden denounced fake referendums held by Russia, saying the results were “manufactured in Moscow.”
“This so-called referendum was a sham — an absolute sham — and the results were manufactured in Moscow. And then — the true will of the Ukrainian people is evident every day as they sacrifice their lives to save their people and maintain the independence of their country and in defense of freedom as well. Russia’s assault on Ukraine in pursuit of Putin’s imperial ambitions is flagrant — a flagrant violation of the U.N. Charter and the basic principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Biden.
