Shakhtar Donetsk football director Darijo Srna told which teams helped transport Shakhtar Football Academy to Croatia.
“I talked to people from the Croatian government, the prime minister, the deputy prime minister, the minister. He told the director to send the whole academy to Croatia — we will accept. Dynamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split also helped, they are fine, there are more than 85 children, 10-15 mothers, several coaches over 60 years old.
They train four times a week, play friendly games, I was at one of them, they play beautifully. Children are our future. Today I am Ukrainian, and the whole world is Ukraine. I am sure that the war will pass and everything will be fine, we must believe in it. We will be strong.
I thank them for everything they do, I am proud to have lived and will live in Ukraine. I am proud to have met people who are now heroes, their president, Shakhtar fans, people who work with humanitarian aid, the military, people who are close to the president, they are all heroes today. I thank them,” Srna said.
