Turkey will give the Bayraktar, for which the Lithuanians raised money, for free. It will be handed over to Ukraine

Turkey has gifted a Bayraktar combat drone to Lithuania to hand it over to Ukraine.

“It is unbelievable, but Turkey just agreed to give the Bayraktar that Lithuanians gathered money for, for free. It is amazing! For the gathered money we will buy the needed ammunition for the Bayraktar, and the rest of the money will also go for support of Ukraine. Thank you, Türkiye!” said Lithuania’s Minister of National Defense, Arvydas Anušauskas.

Last week, ordinary Lithuanians donated over €5 million in a fundraising campaign launched by public figure Andrius Tapinas and his media channel Laisvės TV to purchase the Bayraktar drone for Ukraine.
