Turkey’s Baykar to donate Bayraktar TB2 to Ukraine after Polish crowdfunding campaign
The Turkish company Baykar will hand over a UAV, Bayraktar TB2, for which Polish citizens raised funds, to Ukraine for free, the initiator of fundraising in Poland, journalist Slawomir Sierakowski, announced on Facebook.
“We want to be part of this human gesture of solidarity… We will hand over the Bayraktar TB2 to the Ukrainians so that they can defend their Motherland in the best possible way,” the company said.
At the same time, Sierakowski added, PLN 22.5 million (more than $4.7 million) collected in Poland will be used for humanitarian aid to Ukraine in agreement with the Ukrainian and Turkish parties.
It is noted that Poles collected even more than was planned. So these extra funds will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine fund account of the National Bank of Ukraine.
