Twitter will mark false information about the Russian war in Ukraine

The social network company Twitter will mark obviously false information about the war in Ukraine, as well as limit the dissemination of information that may be false.
The company introduced such changes on May 19, 2022, as part of the new Policy for Overcoming False Information in Times of Crisis.
“This policy is intended to help protect Twitter discussions since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Especially during moments of crisis, misleading claims can go viral while the truth is still asleep.
To help address these dynamics, we won’t amplify or recommend potentially misleading content about crises, as soon as we find credible evidence a claim may be misleading,” said Yoel Roth, the company’s security policy officer.
