Two U.S. lawmakers who introduced a resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism arrived in Ukraine

Two U.S. lawmakers who have urged Washington to accelerate the pace of weapons deliveries to Kyiv arrived in the Ukrainian capital on July 7, 2022, where they met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Senators Lindsey O. Graham and Richard Blumenthal also visited Bucha and Borodianka — suburbs of Kyiv particularly affected by the war.
During the meeting with the Ukrainian President, Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal informed Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the work they are carrying out in the Senate to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
The President thanked the senators for this important activity and emphasized Ukraine’s readiness for further close coordination of activities with partners on the sanctions track.
