Two Ukrainian commemorative coins entered the top 10 coins of the world, according to the 2022 Coin of the Year contest

Two Ukrainian commemorative coins are among the top 10 coins of the world, according to the results of the 2022 Coin of the Year Awards, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports.
The 5 hryvnia nickel silver coin “The 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence” won in the Most Artistic Coin category. This coin celebrates the Act of Declaring Ukraine’s Independence on Aug. 24, 1991.
The 10 hryvnia silver coin entitled “The 25th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Constitution” won in the Best Contemporary Event Coin category. This coin celebrates the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Ukrainian Constitution — the main source of national law and one of the anchors of Ukrainian identity.
According to the NBU statement, international experts chose winners among almost 2,300 coins from 40 countries issued in 2021. In the first stage, the 100 best coins (10 coins in each of the 10 categories) were selected, and among these were seven Ukrainian coins.
