UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Ukraine on country’s Independence Day

Prime Minister of the UK Boris Johnson arrived in Ukraine on the country’s Independence Day and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. It is his third visit to Ukraine since the full-scale war started and the final one before leaving Downing Street. In three weeks’ time, Johnson will no longer be UK Prime Minister.

“I am happy to meet Boris Johnson, a great friend of Ukraine, on Independence Day. Boris, thank you for the uncompromising support for our country from the first days of the full-scale Russian aggression, for steadfastly defending the interests of Ukraine in the international arena! Ukraine is lucky to have such a friend!” wrote President Zelenskyy on Telegram.

Earlier today, Johnson reiterated his support for Ukraine on the country’s Independence Day. He wrote: “For however long it takes, the United Kingdom will stand with you”.
