Ukraine has addressed G7 with a request for $50 billion to cover the budget deficit

Ukraine has asked G7 nations for $50 billion in financial support to help it cover a war-linked budget deficit over the next six months, said Oleh Ustenko, the economic adviser to Ukraine’s President. Other funding sources are also considered, including issuing 0% coupon Eurobonds and SDR allocation by the IMF.
“The main expenses are the army and everything social-related. To support the first and the second, we need the support of partners,” Ustenko said.
The talks about the funding are to take place during the 2022 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. The latter will start on Monday, April 18, and last through Sunday, April 24, in Washington D.C.
