Ukraine has launched a “Map of Cultural Losses” to show the extent of damage caused by Russian troops to its cultural heritage
The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation launches an interactive “Map of Cultural Losses” to demonstrate the scale of the damages. Visualization of such war crimes also refutes different statements of the Russian authorities that their army allegedly makes surgical strikes only on military infrastructure.
According to preliminary estimates, over 150 monuments and cultural sites were partially damaged or completely destroyed as a result of a full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine. “Almost all cultural sites that the Russian army has partially damaged or destroyed in Ukraine can be viewed in real-time. Such visualization of their crimes will once again prove that Russia is a lying terrorist country that contrary to any international rules of warfare, international conventions, destroys everything in its path,” said Vladyslav Berkovski, the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
